Google Analytics Setup for Your Website

Updated June 2025

How to get Google Analytics installed on your website, what data it tracks, and how to access your reports.

Google Analytics (GA4) is a free tool that shows you how many people visit your website, where they come from, which pages they view, and how long they stay. It's essential data for making informed decisions about your website and marketing.

Setting Up Google Analytics

  1. Create a Google Analytics account at analytics.google.com (sign in with your Google account).
  2. Create a new GA4 Property for your website and note the Measurement ID (it looks like G-XXXXXXXXXX).
  3. Submit a ticket to our team under Website Services → Google Analytics Setup and include your Measurement ID.
  4. We'll install the tracking code on every page of your website within 1–2 business days.
  5. Data starts appearing in your Analytics dashboard within 24 hours of installation.

Key Reports to Check Weekly

  • Users & Sessions: How many people visited and how many times.
  • Traffic Sources: Where visitors are coming from (Google search, social media, direct).
  • Pages & Screens: Which pages get the most views and which drive the most engagement.
  • Conversions: How many visitors completed a desired action (form submission, call click, etc.).

If you're already tracking through our Business or Managed plan, we include monthly analytics reports in your service. Check your portal's Projects section for monthly report files.
