How often your website is backed up, how far back we can restore, and what to do if you need a restore.
Automated backups are one of the most critical (and most overlooked) aspects of website management. A backup ensures that if something goes wrong — whether due to a bad update, a hacking attempt, or accidental content deletion — we can restore your site quickly.
Backup Schedule
- Daily backups: Every site we host is backed up automatically once every 24 hours.
- Retention: We store 30 days of daily backups, giving you a month of rollback options.
- Pre-update snapshots: Before making any significant changes to your site (like a theme or plugin update), we take a manual snapshot as an additional safety net.
How to Request a Restore
If something breaks or content is accidentally deleted, submit a ticket immediately under Website Services → Restore Request. Include the following:
- What specifically looks wrong or was deleted.
- Approximately when it was last correct (this helps us choose the right backup point).
- Whether you want a full site restore or just a specific page or file recovered.
Most restores are completed within 1–2 hours. If you need a restore urgently (e.g., your site is completely down or showing incorrect content to customers), call (925) 365-9811 and mark your ticket as Critical.
